We're coming to the end of 2020 and I can say that as I write this, January 2020 and October 2020 look extremely different for me. My name is Carly Voinski and I'm the owner of High Tide Exchange, coming to you from the state of New Jersey.
It’s hard to put into words what I’ve learned over the past year, but one of those things is that vulnerability can actually be a strength. I never saw it that way before. Opening myself up to really answer questions like what scares me, what am I good at, what do I dream about doing, how do I want to live the life God has given me, etc, has allowed me to make the decision to become a small business owner and acknowledge that you don’t succeed without some failing along the way. And you’ll never succeed if you don’t first take the step to even start!
I've both volunteered and worked full time as a Worship Leader for the last 13 years. Spending my time in creative fields I have had the privilege of launching brands, writing music, designing merchandise and clothing, working in stage design, and interior commercial design. This year has opened and closed doors for everyone in a variety of ways, and I knew it was time to make a shift and walk through a new door, using my past experience to launch a future blessing.
A couple words that have been on my heart the past couple years, very heavily, are Legacy and Purpose. I want the things I do to matter not just now, but even when I’m no longer here. Does anyone relate?
I want to make a difference. I’ve connected with A21, a non-profit founded by Christine Caine, that is dedicated to ending human trafficking and slavery both in the U.S. and around the world. I’m excited to let you know that as one of their business partners, a percentage of profits will be going to fund their mission each month. My desire is that this brand will not just have the purpose of provision and fulfillment but of legacy as we are active in a mission that is having immediate and long term impact.
I have dreams of expansion and how to scale but for now you can find us here, online. I appreciate your likes, follows, shares, but most importantly your love and support as we collectively make choices to leave the world a little better than how we found it.
